Why CO2 Now?

We had a client come into our shop this week and asked about our new CO2 dry cleaning process, Eco2 Cleanse. She wanted to know all about the CO2 process and how long it has been around. She was very interested as she did not want any petrochemicals around her new born.

CO2 dry cleaning technology has been commerically available for about 10 years. She wanted to know why we didn't make this change sooner.

The fact is that until now, CO2 did not clean very well. Our firms have been cleaning clothes for a total of 128 years so for us "cleaning" comes first.

The technology that we have adopted has been under development for 4 years and cleans BETTER than traditional dry cleaning and much better than so called "organic" dry cleaning.

By adopting our Eco2 Cleanse process we want our firm to push the dry cleaning industry in a positive direction. For years dry cleaning has been branded as “harmful” and “cancer causing”. This can all change if this process becomes widespread.

The main hurdle is price. CO2 dry cleaning technology is three to four times more expensive than traditional equipment. Besides the higher “price of admission”, maintenance requires highly qualified technicians and this intimidates most small dry cleaning operators.

The time is right for us. Our clients can experience dry cleaning which is simply clean, simply green and enviornomentally responsible.
